Labor Day - Office Closed

O, Lord Jesus Christ, who at the carpenter’s bench did manifest the dignity of honest labor, deliver us in our various occupations from the service of self alone, that we may do the work you give us to do with joyfulness and for the common good. Watch over those who do the tedious, dirty and dangerous work which is necessary to sustain our life, and grant that we who depend upon their service may honor them with thanks. Comfort those who suffer want and anxiety from lack of work -- and guide the people of this land to use the bounty of your creation in such a way that all may find suitable and fulfilling employment, and receive just payment for their labor and service. In your most holy name, we pray. Amen.
